These are the three novels I devoured over the past few months:

  • What The Dog Knows by Cat Warren -It’s not just because I’m into Nosework that I’m recommending this book to folks. This is an awesome book that also talks about a reactive dog and the field work he does with his owner. It’s a beautiful story. Anyone that shared a strong bond with their dog will appreciate this author’s memoir.
  • Beyond Flight or Fight by Sunny Weber -Living with a fearful, reactive (on leash) dog has its challenges. Sunny has a lot to share about rehabilitating dogs but also sharing your life with reactive dog and the management involved. It’s important to know what it means when your dog reaches “threshold” for example.
  • An Unspoken Art by Lee Butkind – also known as the master of creative nonfiction. He profiles men and women that devote their lives to the care of animals. I don’t know about you but if you read (or devoured) the James Herriot’s “All Creatures Great and Small” then you will love this modern day tale. James Herriot’s book is why I became a vet tech!

All of these are available on Amazon and I purchased two of these used for a good price.
