Ten Reasons BlogPaws Rocked: Newbie’s POV

Thank you BlogPaws team and event organizers. The trip and event was outstanding. It was wonderful meeting everyone – one highlight was when I realized I was sitting in front of a blogger and dog trainer that I’ve followed for years (shared a post she wrote that moved me a few months ago) and there I was in a workshop with her! I was surrounded by celebs in the pet industry and everyone couldn’t have been more welcoming. I loved connecting with people I’ve recently met through weekly boosts and bloggers I’ve followed for years!

Ten Reasons The Event Rocked:

  1. So many awesome tracks to attend: And table top talks, networking sessions….keynotes
  2. Some bloggers even have Etsy stores like The Broke Dog blogger, bow ties anyone?
  3. There are dog bloggers that own digital agencies AND have adorable Boston Terriers that are video superstars – you learn about this during their track…this doesn’t happen at TED Talks or SXSW
  4. The keynote on Day One is so inspiring –you cannot wait for things to get started! By the time the keynote starts, you’ve already filled up a notebook or ten pages of a word doc… thank you @PamSlim! Check out her book, Escape from Cubicle Nation.
  5. The business cards are so cute: even thank you notes are fun to write!

6. You learn about fair use during a conversation with another blogger and Disney’s example is the one that resonates. Thank you!

7. You get to meet the Arizona Humane Society EAMT/animal cruelty investigator and learn about Hill’s Pet Preparedness Tips (I’ll be posting about this later in the week)

8. Flat Pets and fuzzy felties travel with bloggers that have animals not attending and I doubt mom bloggers bring flat children to Blog Her 🙂

9. Corprophagia is a question that comes up during an SEO workshop – I bet that doesn’t happen during a marketing conference
10. You win Go Pro Cameras: Go Denise!!

Blogpaws was a ton of fun! I’m glad I got to meet you even though it was ever so briefly. The best part is definitely meeting your online friends in real life!

    • Colby! It was so nice to meet you and I agree that meeting F2F after all these months of reading each other’s blogs is amazing! Have a good week my friend.

Looks like a ton of fun and much to learn/see/do. 🙂
    The hotel looked AMAZING!!

    • Thanks so much! Next year it’s in Myrtle Beach so closer to you or at least on your side of the coast 🙂 I’m happy to share notes, just holler!

I am so excited to have met and started what I know will be a lifelong friendship! Now I need to learn to use that GoPro!! 😉

    • Agreed: So grateful we had the opportunity to meet F2F and right after connecting too which is so nice. 🙂 I cannot wait to see your Go Pro footage! xo

I’m not sure if we got a chance to meet or not, but I agree with everything you said! I was a BlogPaws newbie this year and had no idea what to expect. I had such a great time 🙂

    • I don’t think we did!! 🙁 which is sad. It was fun to be a newbie but so many folks I didn’t meet!! Next year for sure — it was so fun, right??!!

  5. Thank you so much for the shoutout! 🙂 It was so wonderful meeting you in person! Also…great minds think alike: I have a draft for “10 Reasons I loved blogPaws 2016”. Hooray for top tens! What a great weekend!

    • Oh my gosh as soon as my client pays me I’m ordering those three bow-ties. 🙂 Top ten reason is so much fun!! Cannot wait to read your post, make sure to link it up as I’m watching those so I can read them all!! Loved meeting YOU.

  6. I am so glad we met and am really excited about the new blogger accountability group! Such a great group of women – too bad we all live so far apart. It would be fun to have a mid-year blogging retreat.

Pamela Slim was definitely a highlight for me and I can’t wait to read her book and start following her more closely.

    • I’m so happy we’re going the accountability group too – even one topic to bounce around will benefit me for sure. I’d LOVE to have a retreat. Not sure I’ll get over to the East Coast in 2017. I’m going to try for sure so I love your idea. Wasn’t she awesome! I was super inspired after her keynote and I bet having her as a coach would be life changing!! So awesome meeting you in person and CONGRATS!
