#Vita Bone Blog Squad (#Sponsored)

Today is National “Spoil Your Dog Day” and we’re celebrating with some positive reinforcement training and Vita Bone Treats. We reviewed both Vita Bone Chewy Sticks (as you can see above these were a big hit) and Biscuits as part of their Blog Squad team.

We’re working on positive training and weaning Walter off of lures and prompts. I got into the bad habit of luring Walter into a down by pointing to the floor with a cookie in my hand and as a result he really doesn’t know the command down. We’re working on this and the Vita Bone treats were a great training tool as I can break them up in tiny pieces which helped a lot. Creating behaviors with food rewards is a big activity in our house so we need some high reward treats to get the job done!

We asked pet expert and certified dog and cat behavior consultant, Steve Dale, for his point of view on positive reinforcement. Steve is also a Vita Bone expert source and agrees with this method of training, “Dogs learn best through positive reinforcement. The real value is that it teaches dogs which behaviors we want to see. Positive reinforcement makes learning fun, because it’s motivating.”

Why I was excited to review and try these treats? They’re made in the USA and the ingredients include: Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids and Glucosamine.

What is Vita Bone®? Vita Bone Biscuits are made with natural ingredients and fortified with 23 essential vitamins and minerals.

Who makes Vita Bone? Vita Bone Biscuits and Chewys are made right here in the USA – Ogden, UT to be specific – by American Nutrition, a family-owned and operated company since 1972. Jack Behnken, the founder, saw what many of us take for granted today – that pets are considered family. “We still develop our own recipes based on the highest quality ingredients, and by following the strictest standards of safety and quality.”

Disclaimer: I only share information about products and services that I believe in and already fit into our doggie lifestyle and routine. I did receive treats from #VitaBone in exchange for an honest review but the brand did not compensate me for this post.

We also have a give-away!

I’ve been seeing many treats lately that are made in North America and or both, made with quality or natural ingredient. It’s about time we start seeing more of this and less of the junk coming from overseas.

    Thanks girl, I entered. 🙂
